Join Polish American String Band for the new and improved Mummers Mardi Gras on Sunday, Feb 23rd, at a brand new venue, XFinity Live in South Philadelphia!

“This hugely popular celebration of the Mummers String Bands is returning for the second consecutive year to its South Philadelphia roots. The 2020 Mummers Mardi Gras, featuring all 16 Mummers String Bands, will be staged on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at XFINITY Live! (1100 Pattison Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19148).
For the first time in the event’s history, there will be two live performance sessions on a large stage under the big screen inside XFINITY Live!, each featuring eight String Bands. The first session is from 11 am until 3 pm, while the second session takes place from 4 pm until 8 pm. The sessions will be divided evenly between even and odd numbered String Bands, based on their finish in the January 1st Mummers Parade, the longest running folk parade in the U.S.. In addition to the classic sounds of the Mummers String Bands and plenty of strutting, the family friendly event will feature food and drinks at all XFINITY Live! restaurants and vendors including Lorenzo & Son’s Pizza, Geno’s Steaks, and Chickie’s & Pete’s. A “Take A Picture with a Mummer” open-air photo booth will be set up for attendees to try on costumes and take photos with Mummers, as well as a ‘Build An Umbrella’ station for people of all ages to make their very own Mummers umbrella with sequins and feathers. Victory Beer Hall will feature a number of activities, including a polka contest hosted by the Polish American String Band.”
